sacraments of reconciliation and FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
The Dover-Sherborn Catholic Community offers a two-year program, beginning in first grade,to prepare students to receive the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Reconciliation in second grade. The first grade year invites children to embrace God as a loving Father Whose goodness is manifested in the created world, our families, and in the gift of HIs Son. Children will be reminded of their Baptism and will learn about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ at a basic, age-appropriate level. The second grade program builds on the previous year by delving into God's plan for creation, the loss of friendship wrought by Original Sin, Jesus' life, sacrificial death and resurrection, and his institution of the Sacraments--especially Baptism, Reconciliation, and Eucharist--that sanctify us and offer the promise of friendship and eternal life. Students will receive both the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
First and second grade classes are offered from October through April:
Sundaysfrom 9:15-10:30 am at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish, Sherborn
Tuesdays from 3:15-4:30 pm at Church of the Most Precious Blood, Dover
Do you have an older child who hasn't yet received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion? It's not too late! Contact Graceanne Bowe at [email protected]to find out how we can help.
